What is ENWA?

In a nut-shell, the ENWA is hosted in nightclubs, discos and gigs around the country where young volunteers speak to club-goers about drink and drug driving. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy going and the volunteers are there to speak to young people about being a safe designated driver or to take a taxi home.

The volunteers invite the club-goers to voluntarily take a alcohol breath test and talk about the results in relation to driving friends home. The night is about sharing a sense of responsibility amongst friends, choosing a designated driver and being safe on the journey home.

How to take part

Its actually really easy to take part. All you need to do is decide whether you want to run the event in your area or participate as a volunteer in a club on Saturday 16 October 2010

If you wish to run the event in a club/pub/night spot and you know it will be easy to get permission to do so (perhaps your family or friends owns or works in a suitable venue), all you have to do is get a few friends together and be there on the night. We will send you all the things you need to run it including breath tests, bracelets for designated drivers, all information about the event and you will receive all support needed so you are ready to take part. This also applies if you are an organisation or youth group.

If you wish to take part as a volunteer, you will receive all the training you need too. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, information pack and resources. All you have to do is read the info we send you and pledge to take part!

If you feel this is for you please fill in the form here and we will get back to you ->
